What Is Dominion Dominion is a heavily optimized sandbox geo-political server with emphasis on growing towns into nations, by working together! OUR SERVER IP: dominionserver.net Our philosophy is community over everything and that is reflected in how we run every plugin on Dominion. We like to be pretty transparent and make it clear what you will be getting into here at Dominion. Our server is not for everyone, but we think our style will resonate with a lot of you! Lets talk about the key parts of Dominion and why we chose it. Physical Economy: Our Economy is a physical currency based on Gold Ingots. There is no digital bank account, which means no /pay and /deposit commands. Your wealth is determines by the gold you possess on in your inventory and your vault chest. There are also no overpowered jobs to earn money on our server. You can either mine for it or trade for it with other players. Why: We want our economy to be completely player driven. This means you get to decide the value of everything here on Dominion. We also want to encourage players to meet, communicate and grow trust with each other. Travel Isnt Easy: A lot of Towny servers allow you to either /tpa or /t spawn to any player or town on the server. At Dominion, we have disabled this. However, to help grow towns, you can teleport to your own town and your nations capital. Why: We feel this will encourage communities of towns to come together to build railways, roads and river passages between each other. It also helps towns to work together to create resources that their town needs such as food and tree farms, rather than /t spawning to the biggest town and using theirs. No Pay to Win: Our server has one single donation rank. 5 for life. Purely to support the growing costs of our server. Why: We HATE pay to win. Too many servers these days offer 50 ranks that give players an unfair advantage. When a new player joins Dominion, they should have the same advantage as everyone else. Huge Custom World: Our world is 24,000 by 17,000 blocks wide, entirely custom with enormous mountain ranges and beautiful landscapes bursting with potential. The huge world also means there will always be a place for your town without having to be too close to another. Why: We want you to be able to build your towns in beautiful locations. Want a dwarven style mountain cavern What about a mountain plateau Or a desert Oasis There is opportunity for every style you can imagine within our world. Vanilla Plus Style : We want to protect the feeling of playing Minecraft Vanilla. We like to call our experience Vanilla Plus. While we offer plugins such as Towny and Economy, we will never add plugins which change the fundamentals of what we like about Minecraft. This means no fake, overpowered enchantments, no fake crafting ingredients such as dust and essence and no non-vanilla mechanics. Why: We want to make Dominion a place where new players can understand how to play the second they join. We also want to protect the feel of vanilla minecraft that many of us have grown to love.
