The Ancient World is one of the oldest Minecraft survival worlds and is the longest running Narrative-Driven Roleplay server known today, with the map first being created in July 2010 using Minecraft Alpha v1.0.4 where it was primarily used as a single player survival world, then becoming a private server in early 2011 before finally becoming a public server later that year. Maintaining a world from July 2010 places The Ancient World in an elite tier of internet history, predating even 2b2t (December 2010) and sitting alongside MinecraftOnline (August 2010) as one of the oldest surviving Minecraft worlds in existence.
