These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and MineBuff (“we”, “us”, “our”) governing access to and use of the MineBuff website, APIs, embeds, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, listing a server, voting, reviewing, reporting, purchasing a promotion, or otherwise interacting with MineBuff, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account or submit content that identifies you. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. You must provide accurate registration information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly update contact details. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized access. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that appear fraudulent, abusive, underage, or in violation of these Terms.
2. The Service
MineBuff is an independent Minecraft server directory and discovery tool. We list publicly submitted server information, display status and player counts from automated checks when available, and provide voting, reviews, search, and optional paid visibility. We do not host, operate, moderate, or control third-party Minecraft servers. Minecraft® is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB / Microsoft. MineBuff is an unofficial fan service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang or Microsoft.
3. Listings and user content
You may only list servers you own or are expressly authorized to promote. Listings, descriptions, banners, icons, trailers, FAQs, links, tags, reviews, reports, and other materials you submit (“User Content”) must be accurate and lawful. You grant MineBuff a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting/thumbnails), publicly display, distribute, and otherwise use User Content solely to operate, promote, secure, and improve the Service. You represent that you have all rights needed to grant this license and that User Content does not infringe others’ rights. We may refuse, edit, merge, unpublish, or remove listings or other User Content at any time for any reason, including policy, safety, trademark, or legal compliance, without liability to you.
4. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Post illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, pornographic, or otherwise prohibited content; or promote malware, phishing, scams, real-money gambling where unlawful, or exploitation of minors.
- Impersonate others, misuse trademarks, or misrepresent server ownership, IP addresses, versions, editions, or rewards.
- Manipulate votes, rankings, reviews, or impressions through bots, scripts, VPNs used for abuse, vote exchanges, brigading, fake accounts, paid fake reviews, or other artificial means.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; bypass rate limits, authentication, or access controls; scrape at a volume that degrades the Service without our written permission; or reverse engineer non-public aspects of the Service except as allowed by mandatory law.
- Interfere with other users, overload infrastructure, or use the Service to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
5. Votes, reviews, and ranking
Votes and reviews must reflect genuine player opinion. Voting is subject to cooldowns (currently about 24 hours per listing per voter IP, with UTC day boundaries where noted) and anti-abuse controls. Ranking algorithms, filters, and resets may change. Paid Sponsored or Premium placements are additional visibility and do not replace organic vote rankings. We may discount, ignore, or reverse votes and reviews we reasonably believe are abusive or invalid, and may remove reviews that violate these Terms or our listing guidelines.
6. Paid promotions and billing
Optional Premium and Sponsored products are sold as recurring subscriptions processed by PayPal (or another payment provider we designate). Prices, slot availability, and features are described on the Advertise / Checkout pages and may change prospectively. Sponsored slots are limited; a reserved slot stays locked for the binding subscription period. Premium visibility and impression allowances (including the stated 1,000,000 monthly impression target and any banked unused impressions) are promotional delivery metrics for placements on MineBuff — they are not a guarantee of player joins, revenue, or search ranking outside MineBuff. Unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise: (a) fees are non-refundable once a period begins; (b) cancelling stops future renewal but access continues until the paid period ends; and (c) chargebacks or payment failure may result in immediate suspension of promotions. Taxes may apply. You authorize the payment provider to charge the selected plan according to its terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service’s software, design, trademarks, logos, and original content (excluding User Content and third-party marks) are owned by MineBuff or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding or non-public materials without prior written consent. Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
8. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on MineBuff infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: (1) identification of the work and the allegedly infringing material (URL/slug); (2) your contact details; (3) a statement of good-faith belief that use is unauthorized; (4) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized agent; and (5) your physical or electronic signature. We may remove or disable access to material and, in appropriate cases, terminate repeat infringers.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service may link to Discord, Google, PayPal, Minecraft servers, shops, and other third-party sites or services. Those parties have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, billing, or conduct — including anything that happens on a Minecraft server you join from MineBuff.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that listings, status pings, player counts, uptime stats, rankings, impressions, or search results are complete, accurate, continuous, or error-free. Server availability depends on third-party hosts outside our control.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MineBuff AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR PLAYERS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY MINECRAFT SERVER DISCOVERED THROUGH IT — WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR PAID PROMOTIONS IN THAT PERIOD OR (B) EUR 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MineBuff and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your Minecraft servers or promotions, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through the dashboard where available. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or cancel promotions immediately if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if required by law. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses for content already distributed, disclaimers, limitations, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or an in-Service notice when practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel paid subscriptions.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply and cannot be waived. Courts located in the country where the operator is established shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to those mandatory consumer rights. Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting [email protected].
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific checkout terms, are the entire agreement regarding the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. No third-party beneficiaries are created except as expressly stated.
