Towny turns survival into towns and nations. Mayors claim town land, set taxes, create plots for homes and shops, and sometimes form nations for diplomacy or war.

Some servers are peaceful city life; others focus on nation wars. Plot types and mayor permissions decide how “city-like” it feels. A live map link is a good sign.

Read upkeep costs and how expensive it is to start a town. Towns that cannot pay upkeep can fall and lose their claims.
